Description

Performing Arts of Woodstock is proud to open its 61st season with:

Richard Nelson's
An American Comedy

Directed by Ellen Honig

“… if you can believe that a play can be part ROOM SERVICE, part Das Capital and part His Girl Friday, you’ve got the premise of the wildly funny AN AMERICAN COMEDY. The play is such an accurate pastiche of the time, that some audiences have taken it for a genuine comedy written in the thirties. There’s so many doors slammed, fires put out, trunks shut, typewriters ruined, disrobings, and darts thrown that at times you think you’ve wandered into a lost Marx Brothers comedy …” —Diane Wright, The Herald

Performing Arts of Woodstock

Performing Arts of Woodstock is a not-for-profit year-round local theater organization presenting new and established plays of quality since 1964, when it was founded by Eda Crist and Edie LeFever.
PAW is the oldest, continuously running theater organization in the history of Woodstock!

Now in its 61st season, Performing Arts of Woodstock has been mounting quality productions of both new and classic plays — artistically challenging plays such as True West, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, The Dresser, The Good Woman of Setzuan, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Twelfth Night, Breaking the Code, Endgame, to name just a few from the last several years.
